A little bit about the girl behind the edit.
it all started with a love for making things make more sense - and look better while doing it.

I’ve always been the person who wants things to make a little more sense — and look better while doing it. It started in middle school with spreadsheets, charts, organizing information, and finding better ways to turn a slightly chaotic idea into something clear and useful.
Over time, that same instinct started showing up in more creative ways. I found myself building websites, dashboards, spreadsheets, and digital tools for my own businesses and projects — not because I had to, but because I genuinely loved the process of figuring out what something needed to do and bringing it to life.
Eventually, I realized the analytical and creative sides of what I do weren’t separate at all. The Better Edit became a place to bring them together.

My background is deeply rooted in business, data, and technology. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with focuses in Data Analytics & Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University, and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Business Administration focusing in Information Technology (IT) Management at Western Governors University.
Professionally, I work in corporate tech at a Fortune 75 consulting company, where my experience has included multiple Fortune 100 clients & their data, digital products, analytics, testing, and the behind-the-scenes details that make digital experiences actually work.
I have designed, built, and published several other sites, digital products, and social media pages for other small businesses - but am always looking to expand my portfolio across a variety of industries.
My background shapes the way I approach everything I create. I’m thinking about more than how something looks — I’m considering how information is organized, how someone will use it, what makes sense for the business, and how all of the pieces work together. Whether I’m working on a website, dashboard, spreadsheet, or custom digital tool, good design and good functionality should never have to compete.

Admittedly, the laptop doesn’t close very often.
Outside of my 9–5 and The Better Edit, I’m a toddler boy mom, MBA student, firefighter wife, and co-owner of a local event planning + rentals business — so there’s usually another project, idea, or very unnecessary spreadsheet happening somewhere in the background.
I’m originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, and met my husband in college while I was cheering and he was playing basketball. A few years, a move to Idaho, a wedding, our first home, a couple of businesses, and one little boy later, life looks quite a bit different — and I’ve somehow found a reason to build a spreadsheet, tracker, website, or system for just about every phase of it.
I love the creative side of life just as much as the organized side, whether I’m working on an event, changing something in my house for the hundredth time, planning our next big goal, or turning a random “wait, what if I…” thought into my next project.
A lot of what I create is inspired by things I’ve genuinely needed along the way — tools for work, school, finances, business, weddings, homeownership, motherhood, and all the life happening in between. I think that’s why I care so much about making things that aren’t just nice to look at, but actually useful in real life.
At the end of the day, I’m someone who genuinely likes making things, figuring things out, and finding a better way to do something — which, come to think of it, explains The Better Edit pretty well.
